After my trip home to Oklahoma, I returned to my daughter's house in Indiana. My daughter Jennifer was not able to join us in Oklahoma so I was able to spend some time with her too. We spent the rest of my vacation visiting the local sites and having fun. We went to the Indiana state fair where we spent all day exploring everything the fair had to offer. The food everyone was raving over this year was the krispy kreme donut burger. I have to say I did not think this was a well thought out plan for a hamburger. I changed my mind after my first bite! We enjoyed the Japan exposition and can food displays representing the year of the pig for the fair. Lots of fine mouth watering pork recipes everywhere we looked! I got to visit the Indianapolis Speedway where we took a lap around the track! Lots of places to eat too, I really had a good time with my vacation this year! I got to see all of my grandchildren and visit my family.

Four generations of family!

On Sunday Aug 2nd, we attended a family reunion that my cousin Terri hosted. Terri and her family did an awesome job and lots of thanks and kudos go out to all of them! Terri sent a CD of pictures and music to everyone to mark the occasion after the event which is also very awesome! We had lots of food and spent time reminiscing and meeting new members of our ever growing family. Our family photo has 50 members present, but we still had several others who were not able to make it. I am truly blessed to have such a great family! I was able to get a four generation picture with my Mother and my children, and their children, a memory we will cherish always.

This year Andre and I decided like most Americans to pay off our bills and attempt to get ourselves better organized to handle this economy. Andre has been pretty busy at work, thankfully and that has been a big help. Vacation was not really in our plans for this year, but it was decided that I would take a vacation and go home to visit family in Oklahoma. My daughter Sabrina had been suggesting that we should go to Oklahoma to visit my Mother and bring all my grandchildren so she could spend some time with them.
I flew to Indiana on July 30th, just in time to celebrate my grandson Isaac's 6th birthday! My son Nicholas and his wife Amber arrived the same day with my 4 granddaughters. Isaac celebrated his birthday at the local gym where my daughter's family has a membership. We all gathered at the indoor pool to celebrate and have some fun. My daughter Sabrina had taken a cake decorating class and she created a fabulous birthday cake! Isaac had a wonderful time and loved all of his gifts! After dinner, we all had to go to bed early because we were getting up very early to drive to Oklahoma.
On Saturday July 31st, we were up at 3 am and on the road headed to Oklahoma by 4 am! The kids slept for a couple of hours but they were up with the sun once it crested the horizon. I had brought my I-Pad and my grandson Isaac spent most of the drive playing all the games I had downloaded for all the kids to play. I had no idea how popular my I-Pad would become until ALL my grandkids started clamoring to play with it once we arrived and settled in our hotel. We made a few stops along our way to break up the drive, The world Largest Gift Shop was a lot of fun! We spent our first evening getting settled, and we got to have dinner with my brother Brian and my niece Eva and her boyfriend. The next day, Sunday we were heading out to my cousin Terri's for a family reunion.
