As you have read in my last post, my daughter and her boyfriend (now fiancee) have been here visiting, for the past week. Tomorrow they will return home to Georgia as an engaged couple! They arrived here in NH on the 18th, and we celebrated Jennifer's 26th birthday on the 20th. We of course took Jennifer out for her favorite dinner; lobster. Ron got to enjoy some lobster and New England clam chowder as well, needless to say, it was very tasty!
Shortly after they arrived, Ron asked Andre permission to marry Jennifer, and the answer of course was yes. He showed us the ring he bought and told us he wanted to propose in the White Mountains here in NH. Since they arrived, we have had rain every day! We watched the weather and the only day predicted to have sun this week was yesterday, Thursday the 25th. Even as I type this post, there is a thunderstorm happening outside! The good lord smiled on us, and on Thursday the sun was shining and the day held the promise of success. We left in the morning and made our way to Cannon Mountain for a tram ride to the top of the mountain, and some sight seeing. We stopped at Indian Head where Jennifer and Ron climbed to the top of the tower and took a few photos. We made it to Cannon Mountain next, and even though there were a few stubborn clouds, the sun ruled the day.
We took the tram ride up the mountain, and took some really nice pictures. Ron wanted to take the short hike to the observation deck overlooking a spectacular view so he could propose. I begged off and stayed behind so they could have this romantic moment for themselves. Jennifer had no idea what was going to happen because careful steps had been taken to keep her oblivious. Ron did indeed get down on one knee and ask her and Jennifer happily accepted! Another hiker just happened to walk up on them and caught Ron in the middle of his proposal, she was as excited as they were! The photo's of Ron and Jennifer were taken by this nice lady right after the deed was done.
I hope you will enjoy the pictures of our day, I wanted to share this with all of you. Ron and Jennifer are planning an October 2010 wedding here in New Hampshire. We are very happy for our baby girl and we welcome Ron into our family.
