New Hampshire in the fall

My husband and I go for a drive every fall so we can check out all of nature's glory. This year we took our drive and as usual Mother Nature never disappoints with her display of finery. We try to take a different route every year so we can see other areas of the state and this year was no exception. We took a 2 hour drive as opposed to our usual all day affair, and even though it was just a short drive, it was well worth the trip. I am amazed every time we go out how truly blessed I am to be living in such a wonderful state. New Hampshire is the perfect place to experience all 4 seasons in their finest. Fall is by far my favorite season with its display of colorful leaves and the homes and yards decorated with pumpkins, gourds, and mums. Crisp chilly nights the stars in the night sky seeming to shine just a bit brighter. Windy days bring a shower of colorful leaves falling all around to transform the yard into a canvas of color painted by nature. Even the air smells different, crisper, earthier. Soon Halloween will be here and Thanksgiving will be close behind, holidays I look forward too every fall. I've posted some pictures of our drive for you to enjoy, happy fall everyone!

Fall in New Hampshire

I was driving home from work today, and as always I drove past what we like to call our view. Last night we had some rain and of course the fog comes with the chilly mornings after the rain. I never seem to have a camera when I need one, so I had to use my cell phone to take these photo's. The sun was peeking through a thin layer of clouds but as I rounded the corner to home I was greeted by this site. I am in awe of nature's beauty, and every fall I am even more thankful that god has blessed New Hampshire with majestic trees and flowing streams and rivers to display his glorious colors upon his pallet.
Andre and I take a foliage ride every year, and this year will be no different. We have plans to take our drive this weekend so I will of course share the pictures I take along our journey. Soon the snow will fly and I will complain of the cold days and barren trees. The bright side? Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner and all too soon life will return with the spring.

After the weekend with all of our children and Grandchildren, our son and his family returned to Ohio, and we spent the rest of our vacation visiting our Daughter and Grandsons.
Isaac started school on Aug. 10 and we were thrilled to be able to be a part of that. We of course took video and pictures of the big event with all the excitement of any Grandparent. I recall my own experiences when I sent my own children off to school for the first time, and it was kind of surreal watching those same children send their own children off to school for the first time just as I had done. Isaac was super excited and when the school bus arrived, he got on and settled into his seat, and was ready to go. We took a ride to his school to get pictures of his classroom and his teacher, it was a good day for Isaac!
Since Isaac was in school, we got to spend time with Noah. We enjoyed some lunch and PF Changs, and even though we had a limited amount of time, we had a lot of fun.
Isaac's Soccer practice's also started while we were there visiting, and it was a real treat for us to be able to go and watch him play. I can tell he enjoys playing soccer very much, and I enjoyed taking pictures and video of the event. He's pretty good at it too!!
We also took a trip to Jungle Jim's in Cincinnatti, while we were there. Michael stayed home to be with Noah, and to be there for Isaac after school, so we could go with Sabrina. We stopped for lunch at Quaker Steak And Lube, a fun place to eat. I got to try fried pickles, which were surprisingly very tasty! The onion rings were nicely done too! I also had the buffalo wings, hot of course, but not too hot. They had a huge selection of heat for everyone's tastebuds!
Before we arrived at Jungle Jim's, Sabrina took us to a huge IKEA. We needed a map to get around in this place! We bought the boy's an easel for coloring and painting, and checked the prices on a few things while we were there. That place was amazing!
I just have a couple of pictures of our visit to Jungle Jim's, I chose to video tape the experience instead. Trust me when I tell you, the place is huge and they have everything you can imagine from all over the world. We made several purchases of some cheese's, sweets, and beverages, I knew we would not leave there empty handed!
We got to enjoy a stroll on the canal in downtown Indianapolis too while we were there. The canal is a great place to go and enjoy a stroll, or have lunch. There is a lot to do as well, there is an IMAX theater, a museum, the historical society, the zoo is nearby and the canal itself is part of Indiana history. There are several places to stop and have a bite to eat, or dine if you prefer, overall it's a very nice place to visit.
Our last night there, we took the boys to Chuck E Cheese. We wanted to end our visit doing something fun just for them. Noah was so cute, he jst wanted to run around putting the coins in the slots, it took a litle while to get him to understand that he had a game to play. He had the rides figured out quick though! Isaac played air hockey with Grandpa, and he held his own, I could see Isaac and Grandpa enoyed it a lot. I took a lot of pictures and video of the evening too, we had a great time watching the boys play the games and ride the little rides.
We ended our evening with a trip to the Sonic. We don't have Sonic's in New Hampshire, and when I was a kid I lived in Oklahoma and we had Sonic's all the time. They have changed a little over the years, but they are still the same Sonic I know and love. I wanted some dessert, a Sonic blast and a beverage, so we made one last stop. Silly to say the least, but what can I say?
All too soon, our vacation came to an end. We enjoy seeing our children and our Grandchildren, and it is always hard to leave. We are always amazed at how much they have grown when we see them, and we are always thrilled to spend time with them making memories. We always take lots of pictures and make videos for them, and when we return home, we enjoy creating DVD's and photo albums to share with them. I wish I had more videos and pictures of my Grandparents and Parents from when I was a child, but the technology then was not what it is today. I am currently in the process of preserving as many memories as I can from my childhood and my parents. I want my children and Grandchildren to be able to look at their family history and know where they came from. It might take me a while, but I will get it done, for them. We had a great vacation and we are already looking forward to our next visit.
